The Host

Celebrated North East comic Brendan is your host for the evening.

Brendan began life as a musician, playing guitar in local folk clubs. Because of his aptitude as a guitarist, he went on to study piano and trombone at Newcastle school of Music.

At the advice of his music tutors, Brendan left college and became an actor. After sterling performances in Shakespeare’s ‘Henry IV’ and ‘Taming of the Shrew’, the director steered Brendan toward a career in presenting childrens’ television.

After a short period in TV he realised a childhood dream and drove a wagon for a butcher for six months. He returned to music on the advice of said butcher and is now a comedian.

As a comedian Brendan works on the after dinner circuit doing mainly sports and corporate dinners. He was incredibly well received at last year’s awards with his tongue-in-check quips about the industry and its atypical members!

The Dress Code

The North East Digital awards was established to help promote and celebrate the many fantastic businesses and individuals operating within the Digital sector in the region. The awards was also the first of its kind, a sector-specific awards campaign run entirely online.

For these reasons, we have tried to move away from the traditional format of the awards ceremony, creating something unique, enjoyable and most importantly, representative of the people involved. As such, the dress code for the event is smart/casual.
